Fleet 1 participates in racing throughout the year, and races as a class in the summer and winter with good participation.  We generally race without spinnakers, and our object is always to have fun.  No special equipment is necessary to race and to be competitive, and significant handicaps are given for boats with two blade props (10 seconds per mile), three blade props (25 seconds per mile).   We currently race in the summer in the Interclub Regatta, and in the Winter in the Manuel Faundes Seaweed Soup Regatta hosted by the Golden Gate Yacht Club, and in the Jazz Cup.  The Fleet host a national regatta every third year, and sponsors the San Francisco Cup, an annual event every September.
